Three-tiered cost of electricity structure for Utah residential customers (1994):

During summer peak demand months, May through September, bills will be calculated based on three usage levels.

  1. 6.663 cents per kilowatt-hour for the first 400 kilowatt-hours used.
  2. 7.6 cents per kilowatt-hour for usage from 400 to 1000 kilowatt-hours.
  3. 9.0 cents per kilowatt-hour for usage above 1000 kilowatt-hours.

During the remaining months (October through April), residential customers pay the base rate of 6.663 for all electricity used. In addition, two other billing items previously approved by the PSC (Public "dis"-Service Commission) will be implemented:

  • The item that appears on bills as "Percent Interim Rate Adjustment" will expire as scheduled. This temporary charge of about 3 percent was approved by the PSC to recover extraordinary net power costs resulting from wildly spiking prices (caused by Corporate criminal activity) of purchased electricity in 2000 and 2001.
  • A new (BS politically bought and paid for) line item, "Customer Efficiency Services" will begin collecting a surcharge of about 3 percent on April 1 to recover costs of certain demand-side (demand for greater profit by greedy corporations) programs now in place that promote more efficient use of electricity by customers.

The effect of these two items will be approximately offsetting, so the net effect on bills is negligible. (If the effect is negligible, then there is no reason to have them occur in the first place. Negligible to the loss of profit for the electric company or gain in service for the consumer). In fact, the (back-stabbing) PSC and Utah Power "A-GREED" that a good time to begin the efficiency surcharge was when the power cost surcharge expired (so that corporate officers could continue purchasing their additional homes, cars, boats, etc, and give themselves a cost-of-living increase without having a revenue interruption.)

"Model 3" refers to the largest frame size used by Smith & Wesson (S&W) to produce it's full sized top-break cartridge revolvers. The model line began in 1870 with the introduction of the S&W American – the first commercially successful large bore center-fire cartridge revolver. Large military contracts from the Russian government encouraged a series of redesigns during the 1870's, resulting in the configurations known as "Russian Models". Between 1875 & 1878, the US military purchased Model 3's of the Schofield pattern. In 1878, S&W discontinued it's other Model 3 variations in favor of a much improved design which they called the New Model Number Three. In just a few years, a double action model was introduced, known as, logically enough, the .44 D.A. In all it's variations, the Model 3 was the most produced and most copied large frame cartridge revolver model of the 1870-1898 era.:

"Three" used in White Elephant Christmas gift exchange amongst a group of people such as during an office party involves the selection of numbers from a container by each participant in order to determined who gets to pick what wrapped gift first, second, third, etc.

  1. Each person, according to the number they chose from the container, must either pick a gift from beneath the Christmas tree or take (steal) a present from amongst those already chosen and unwrapped.

  2. A present can only be stolen three times.

  3. The person who selects the number 1 has the advantage of seeing all gifts unwrapped after their first selection, and is permitted the last to take (steal) a gift. (While playing this game, I chose number one and selected the same gift I had brought. It was stolen from me and then stolen from the one who had stolen it from me. I then stole it back, which ended the game.)

Anyone who has ever did a little research when buying a car battery has come to realize that the amount of available "cranking amps" is crucial for starting your particular vehicle, even though all gasoline engine batteries have the same amount of (12) volt rating which permits most accessory items to function, (unless you're still using an old 6 volt system). The need for increased "power" to start one's vehicle is similar to the need for increased "power" to start other electric motors, though they generally run at a lot lower power level.

Three-letter hip-hop group (TLC) got its name from its vocalists T-Boz Watkins, Left Eye Lopes and Chili Thomas.

It is said that Elvis Presley bought his first guitar from a hardware store for $7.75 and that it was one of three guitars being sold. He is said to have chosen the middle of the three, which may be interpreted by some as representing a symbolic extension of the expression of being a rebel, since it is noted by some researchers that the middle child (or a child choosing a middle path?) frequently is a rebel. Research into the paths taken by scientists, philosophers, theologians, etc., might in some cases reveal that such a "middle path" was taken on occasions to achieve a discovery, an illumination, an insight.

Elvis had a fascination with numerology - an interest he fed by reading Chiro's Book of Numbers. The theory that the King orchestrated his death is further supported when considering the significance of the date of his alleged death. The date in question is August 16,1977. By adding the numbers in the date, 8, 16, and 1977, you get 2001. This is the title of Elvis' favorite movie in which the hero plans his immortality in the bathroom. Elvis spent a considerable amount of time doing the same: planning his afterlife on the John. Elvis spent so much time in the bathroom that he had his toilet converted into a reclining comfy chair. Coincidentally, the bathroom is also where Elvis's body was reportedly found.

Given Elvis's religious affiliation (Christianity), he had a fascination with things that come in threes i.e. father, son, and holy ghost. The sum of the digits from his favorite film (2+0+0+1) is three. Let's consider the triad of the repetition of the number 24. 2001 (favorite film) less 1977 (year of death) is 24. The two numbers from the day of death (8/16) when added up equal 24. The sum of the digits in the year of death (1+9+7+7) also equals 24. That is 3 occurrences of the number 24 which is divisible by 3, and when divided by three the result, 8 has a perfect cubed root (2x2x2=8).

Elvis loved numerology, and when you consider the numeric significance of the date of his alleged death, it is clear that if indeed he did plan to fake his death, he could not have chosen a better date.

...Despite good planning, if you are lost or in trouble, there’s this advice from search professionals: "People who get saved save themselves."--- "We see color and movement," one Coast Guard pilot told me. If you’re in the trees, move to open country. Set out items in threes, like three campfires. Make large signs on the beach. At night use a Bic lighter. "They’re unbelievably bright," he said...

...Of course, scrapbooking goes beyond photographs. Memorabilia will play an important part in bringing back the good times after the trip has long past. When I arrive at my Disney resort, I immediately begin collecting and I don’t stop until the trip is over. Whenever possible, try to collect items in threes. This way you can include front and back of the item in your book, plus leave one copy intact for any pocket pages you might do. I basically save anything that isn’t nailed down that is somehow related to my trip...

The ability to recognize, compare, and manipulate patterns is the basis for understanding much of mathematics. Patterns include the linear abab patterns that we generally think of first, as well as nonlinear patterns, such as concentric, grid, and branching patterns.

Understanding the concept of patterns and being able to recognize and repeat them helps children understand such things as why a computation method works (or doesn't work) with all numbers in the same way and why one side of a triangle always has a relationship to the other two.

In problem solving, facility with patterns enables children to see the important information in a real-world math problem, how the various pieces of information relate to each other, and the possibilities for predicting the outcome...

PreK-Grade 2:

Some books have a subtle pattern. The pattern of threes, for instance, is prevalent in many folktales and in many other books with a folktale quality. There are three pigs, three bears, three billy goats. Often there are three tasks that must be accomplished. Encourage children to find these patterns...

...Group your thoughts into threes. Thinking in threes forces you to boil down your comments into a concise, economical summary. Three ideas are far easier to remember than five or ten. And grouping in threes establishes a familiar cadence (We are one nation–black, white, brown; we are Protestants, Jews, and Catholics; of the people, by the people, and for the people)...

Number Threes (Oahu, Hawaii) is probably most famous for it's appearance in the Endless Summer, where Bruce Brown deadpans something about "trolling for surfers", as catamarans and sailboats cruised in and around a pod of longboarders. (Restrained chuckles). In any case, Number Threes is so named due to the fact that was the third named spot past Waikiki -- not because there's always three to a wave, though that's pretty common, too. It's an irregular right reef-break not as long as Pops, but hollower and more crowded. This was one of Buttons Kaluhiokalani's favorite spots back when he was blitzkreiging the surfing world back in the late '70s early '80s, and has remained a killer hotdogging spot, due mainly to its steepness, speed and unpredictability. The left off the other side of the peak is fairly mushy and sloppy, but, hey, this is Waikiki and you can do whatever you want, right?

3 modern-day U.S. Presidents universally known as being guilty of deceit against the public in order to pursue war activities that assist corporations in getting richer:

  1. Franklin Delano Roosevelt- He had fore-knowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor as indicated that he met with the Head of the Red Cross and told him to prepare for such an occasion.

  2. Lyndon Johnson- He was involved with the assassination of President Kennedy and deliberately prolonged the war in Viet Nam.

  3. George Bush- He deliberately falsified knowledge about Iraq having Weapons of Mass destruction in order to justify his orders for attack.

3 additional suspected events revolving around the U.S. presidential office which were intended to provide particular groups of corporations with assistance in their efforts to procure (or maintain) an established dominance in a particular economic market:

  1. Abraham Lincoln- American civil war used to increase the North's ability to produce more profits by interfering with the South's use of forced labor to be a dominant economic force.

  2. Teddy Roosevelt- His prominent position in the Spanish-American war, particularly his rough riders campaign up San Juan hill, was as much a political move to place him in-line for the future presidential election as it was to regain a plot of ground in Cuba upon which the C & H sugar company had a main operation.

  3. Andrew Jackson- The delay in sending troops to assist those at the Alamo fort in Texas, was a decisive move to rally other (underdog/helpless/paranoid feeling) Americans to support the attack and forced surrender of Mexican Troops in order that Texas gain a larger territory. (What is needed is a motion picture which depicts how Mexicans and Mexico were treated by Texas and Texans. The typical portrayal is one-sided and shows Texans as underdogs but does not describe their ruthless treatment of Mexicans in their ruthless desire to procure Mexican territory just as the United States had done from the various Native American groups.
