Fundamental Forces

Before going further, in order that the realization is not obscured by other information... if there is a maturational developmental trend towards more and more cognitive (if not behavioral and physiological) three-to-one (or three into one) ratio expressions, then present examples are merely flirtations with a more pronounced "behavioral ensemble" that will become manifest as the Sun increases in size; the effects of which are already being distributed in a variety of forms... as well as being felt and in some ways acknowledged. It also should be noted that there may be those who are aware of the threes prevailency that have contemplated a triadic structure and are confronted with an additional possibility that they suppress, in one way or another, for fear that it suggests a "four" pattern when in actuality it is an excursion into a 3 "to" (too, into) 1 ratio realm that they are unfamiliar with... Even if the additional consideration appears to fit well into their contemplations, they intellectualize a particular example away so that it conforms to what they consider to be a standard triadic model (that they are familiar and comfortable with), without being cognizant of such a model/instance being related to the emerging three-to-one formulations.

Take for example the old expression "Triune God and man," which is a three-to-one example intellectualized to represent a supremacy of consideration by those obsessed with some types of religious doctrine.

Such individuals attempt to shield themselves from a pattern that quite often becomes interpreted in terms of a primitive's ego-centric orientation in the world such as is described by locating oneself at the center of directions associated with the front, back and two sides of our physical presence. A singular or collective of singular and/or multiple considerations should not be viewed as a contradiction to an interest in triadic structures, but as part of an ongoing environmentally influenced developmental process involving the three and subsequent stages of "furtherized" expression. Those who may be claiming a preponderance of four-patterned groupings should re-examine their examples as three-to-one variations.

As Threesologists (Triadologists, etc.), for a short point of Threesological review, it behooves us to acknowledge the existence of triadic structures in those groupings which may be termed with a numerical value other than three. Whereas someone may claim to see a pattern-of-two such as in the case of "Om" (AUM) or pattern-of-four such as in the case of the four directions concept (North, South, East "and" West), or some other pattern enumerated by cultural, religious or other convention; noting the existence or absence of a "three-instance" occurrence (instead of a "for" instance) is the recognition of yet another pattern. Thus stated, it is necessary to highlight the observation that a "three-instance" may exist in a three-patterned absence instead of a three-patterned presence.

Let us start the present 3 to 1 ratio examples list with an old rhyme:

One for the money
Two for the show
Three to get ready

"and..." Four to go.

The word "and" in this instance is like the "comma" used before the thousandths and "hundreds" placements (1,000) when counting "arabetically" (alphabetically + numerically) from right to left, and act as points of demarcation which separate three items from a singular. Those involved with analyzing poetry structure, tend to focus on the familiar (traditional technique) of matching tail/end, head/beginning and internal rhymes. Whereas a Threes researcher may do the same, we now have a larger model in which to apply another available pattern. Namely, the three to one. It is a pattern others have seen in the past, but had no model of pattern in which to reference their acknowledgement. No doubt other patterns may exist but their is no standardized model in which to apply them to/with.

Let us follow the foregoing rhyme with another, perhaps more familiar example:

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear....
Happy Birthday to you.

There are three lines that are distinctly the same and one is different. In this particular instance, there is the (additional) emphasis of the person being attached to the third line.

Here's another rhyme recalled from childhood: "Eeeny ~ Meeny ~ Miney...Mo"

There are 3 rhymes: Eeeny ~ Meeny ~ Miney separated by 1 (unrhymed) Mo, of another rhymed 3: (mo ~ toe ~ go)...

This child's counting/choosing game rhyme goes:

"Eeeny, Meeny, Miney... Mo,
catch a nigger by the toe,
if he hollars let him go,
My mother told me to pick the very best one."

And yes, it is the same one the black kids (when I was growing up) used with a variant: They would say "Whitey" or "Soda Cracker" instead of "Nigger". The words "Whitey" and "Nigger" weren't used prejudicially by the younger kids, they were just expressions heard and mimic-ed from the older kids in the neighborhood. It was the older kids and adults who defined the words in a negative way. The younger kids were TAUGHT how to be prejudicial... even if they had no idea what it meant.

Another type of a three-to-one ratio example can be seen when we label the "three" as being plural and the "one" as being singular denoted with the addition of the letter "s". To this end, our usage of the words "pants, socks, shoes and gloves" to denote plurality, even though the "pants" term is an example of fusing singularities; in contrast to our usage of the words "shirt, coat, and jacket" to describe a singular exercise concerning a plural situation in that two upper extremities are covered (or if your prefer, sleeved) with a singularly identified item. Even though there are two shirt sleeves, we don't customarily say: "Put your sleeves (or shirts) on" to describe a plural account, we typically use the singular term "shirt"... though while I was in Elementary school all the teachers referred to coats, jackets or sweaters as cloaks or wraps. However, the teachers invariable referred to the large "walk in closet" as the cloak room. No one was permitted to put their coats and the like on the back of their chair.

With respect to the previous mention of a cognitive limit, our usage of repeating the word "large" in the X-large, XX-large, XXX-large sizing formula, instead of developing a new form of labeling criteria, suggests the human brain is stuck... just as it had been when humanity began to develop words to describe larger (higher) quantities. The human brain goes into a "three-patterned" repetition mode.

Philosophically speaking, our usage of the word "God" may be a similar indication of having reached a cognitive limit in our present mental stage of development. Many people use the term to describe an ultimate (quantitative) quality.

The following list provides a small handful of variably occurring examples of 3-to-1 characterizations (but you could also refer to them as a 1-to-3 ratio). I have also included some examples where the "1" is a derivation resulting from a composite of three. In any respect, the list exemplifies another characteristic of a "threes" theme though strict threeophiles might feel such an inclusion is a form of mongrelization unacceptable to their notion or presumptions of a threes purity.

While it is unconventional to make the supposition that our hominid development may one day reflect a "three-to-one family" organizational format (when more is understood), just as it is to provide a 3-to-1 correlations list that is not typically found in a textbook, the standardization of sub-atomic particle physics into a three-family model expression (instead of being referred to as for example, a single organization of 3 groups) should not be viewed as "THE" definitive portrayal or explanation. Familiar labels can sometimes lead the exercise of imagination astray into somnambulism... In other words, acceptance of how things are generally organized, particularly by reigning authoritative institutions, can lead to a form of mental sleep-walking purely out of habitual forms of recognition.

Hence, the three-family arrangement might better be identified as three sub-categories of a single compartmentalization related to how the human mind is functioning as an effect of growth under certain environmental influences. In other words, it was and is being affected by internal and external "forces/pressures/circumstances" to exhibit a developmentally alterable (not necessarily adaptable) pattern that began billions of years ago in relation to the Earth's changing environment within the galaxy. If the human species moves permanently beyond the Mercury- Venus- Earth (old/faint young sun to present solar) sequence, with respect to a Mars habitation, then another 3 to 1 ratio will have begun, (thus, for some, more clearly exhibiting the 3 X 2 (6) and possibly the 3 X 3 (9) ratio).

The foregoing consideration may then be the beginning of yet another 3 to 1 ratio involving Mars- Jupiter- Saturn,... Uranus. Further speculations suggest that human cognition as well as genetics may well follow this sequence. However, our present primitive enumeration system (1,2,3/ 4,5,6/ 7,8,9...) may lead us to accept a false level of intellectual security whereby we consider the existence of a perpetuating development into an infinity corresponding to such a numerical sequence; but that may (or may not) in fact conceal a true demise of the present human species— that may be inextricably connected to a sequence that does not represent an actual repetitiveness in growth. In other words, our very genetics, due to the 1- 2- 3 (dawn - noon - dusk) environmental conditions in which it prospered, has an inherent time clock configured with an old type of wind-up mechanism that God may not rewind. God may decide to create a new model and place us on the shelf of antiquities just as we do to fossils. Our fossilization may be due to the usage of the contrived serialization known as 0123456789... While such a serialization has been placed to many uses, such uses keeps us from acknowledging that its repetitiveness is a cognitive entrenchment that bogs us down.

3 Germ layers: Endoderm - Mesoderm - Ectoderm

3 in 1 (overlapping) Germ Layers

Complex organisms such as humans use these three from which is developed the 1 individual. Less complex organisms use either two or one germ layer. Hence, the idea of a 1-2-3 maturational development sequence can be acknowledged. Yet, taking this idea a bit further in terms of a speculative analysis projectively desirous of a testable hypothesis to move beyond philosophical conjecturism, borders on the outskirts of imaginative considerations some readers will fear to venture towards with any exploratory curiosity. In simple terms, after recognizing the three and the three-to-one ratio existents as symbolic representations of underlying genetic influences, the consideration that a genetic influence may also be a symbolic representation of a planetary influence— that is changing... and will thus effect changes in our cognitive portrayals thereof; loses some of those who, in their defense, claim it is an exercise in impracticality.

Note: some of the following examples will be found in a tabled chart on the next (321C) page.

  • A spermatogonium gives rise to 3 active cells and 1 resting cell.
  • 3 grouped (traditional Native American drumming) beats separated by 1 emphasized beat. (Bom-Bom-Bom BOM... Bom-Bom-Bom BOM... Bom-Bom-Bom BOM...etc.)

Some Native American groups are said to have a "four" (or even a "five") pattern preferred focus as opposed to a "three, or tripartite" view. Yet the instance of a 3 to 1 usage in this particular example suggests something other is taking place. This "four" should be compared with the traditional so-called four caste system used in India in which a Dumezilian Tripartite "functions" perspective separates the "forth" item into a separate category.

  • 3 U.S. "traditionalized" size proportions in the fast food restaurant business sector: Small- Medium- Large and 1 commercial profiteering size proportion: Supersize.

"Supersize" can either be equivalent to X-large, XX-large or XXX-large. It is of some linguistic importance to acknowledge that the "X's" can be altered to "1-2-3" numerical designations used as an alternative to the usage of a specific word or words other than "large". To me, this is reminiscent of a primitive One-Two-Many counting system. (An example can be read on a page at this site titled "One- Two- Many".) Primitive peoples had a specific language equivalent word for the quantity "one", another for the quantity "two", but all other quantities beyond this were designated with the singularly repeated "Many". Our present day "Large" designation signifies a present day form of simplistic counting. In other words, our cognitive skills suggest a particularly primitive organizational pattern when placed in an analogous context with this counting system... suggesting we are routinely exhibiting a mental limitation with a variety of "threes" ideas.

3 to 1 basketball free-throw variations:

  1. Single shot (one point)
  2. Making a basket entitles another attempt (that may result in two points, or a (intentional/non-intentional) miss can lead to two additional points if rebounded by a team mate who subsequently makes a basket.)
  3. Automatic two separate shot attempts that, as in the previous instance can either lead to a single point, two points or three points.

Basketball has evolved into the instance of one, two, three-point shot variations that followed a 1- 2- 3 maturational development sequence. (It has sequentially matured.)

The human brain is sometimes referred to as 3 brains in 1:

  1. The Primal brain from a reptilian past.
  2. The Emotional brain from an early mammalian past.
